During the fall of 2018, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office initiated a drug investigation in Frederick for heroin distribution after receiving anonymous tips. On December 10th, 2018, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office executed a search and seizure warrant in the 300 block of North Market Street as a result of the heroin distribution investigation. During the execution of the search warrant, Chimekie Tessa James, 35, of Frederick was located outside of the residence and detained. During the search of the residence, James removed a paper towel from her pants and gave it to detectives. Inside the white paper towel was the following:
- 4 white vials of crack cocaine
- 1 baggie of crack cocaine
- Folded U.S. one dollar bill containing heroin
James was advised of her Constitutional rights concerning interrogation and told detectives that the vials and baggie contained crack cocaine and the folded dollar bill contained heroin. James was then transported and released to the custody of the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where she was processed and charged with the following:
- Possession with intent to distribute
- Possession of crack cocaine
- Possession of heroin
- Possession of CDS equipment
- Possession of paraphernalia.
The investigation was assisted by the Brunswick Police Department, Frederick Police Department, and Maryland State Police, who are all contributing agencies in the Frederick High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA).
