Frederick County Government Offices to Be Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

FrederickCountyRedSealFrederick County Government offices will be closed on Monday, January 18, for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday. Offices will return to regularly scheduled hours on Tuesday, January 19.

Clarifications to the schedule:

  1. The Animal Control Center will be open on January 18 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. with the
    showing of animals and adoptions from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  2. The Frederick County Board of Elections will be closed on January 18.

  3. Curbside Recycling & Landfill: There will be curbside recycling pickup on January 18 and the Landfill and Reichs Ford Road Recycling Center will be open from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Administrative offices will be closed.

  4. Frederick County Public Libraries will be closed on January 18.

  5. The Department of Social Services will be closed on January 18.

  6. Health Department divisions will be closed for the holiday, including: Administration
    (birth and death certificate services), Behavioral Health Services, Community Health
    Services (WIC services), Environmental Health, Health Care Connection (health insurance enrollment services) and Public Health Preparedness. The Dental Program, Infants and Toddlers Program and Audiology Services will also be closed.

  7. TransIT-Plus (demand response), all peak-hour bus service and the MTA 505 & 515
    Commuter Bus service will not operate on January 18. The MARC Train will operate on
    the “S” schedule. Other services will operate on regular schedules.
