If you enjoyed eating at the Elevation Burger by Wegman’s then this is going to be a very upsetting story for you. Not too long ago it shut down.

The reason is that the man who operated that Elevation Burger owned two locations for the restaurant. The second location was doing better than the one by Wegman’s so he shut down that one to focus on making the second location better to gain more profit.

Upon my visits I always noticed the staff was very nice and the establishment was kept very clean. The food was also really good. I like how they sold the veggie burgers for vegetarians and would wrap the burger in lettuce rather than using a bun if you are trying to avoid eating bread. That was clever and generous of them to do. Plus, since their food is all organic you know what you are getting. However, since the food is cooked to order the wait might take a while sometimes.

After reading reviews from yelp.com, I saw that many people really enjoyed Elevation Burger for service, quality of the food, cleanliness, etc. However, I did see some poor reviews on the Elevation Burger website such as,  the employees were bad at their jobs and the food was not as good as it was made out to be. “The good: the place is very clean and SOME of the staff were very polite and helpful. The bad: first, our cashier was incompetent. As we ordered by the menu listed right above our heads, I had to clarify for him that a Veggie #2 doesn’t come with cheese – it’s vegan. He then asks again, “so, no cheese?”  ok ok, maybe I’m being a little too critical, I thought. Our total for two sandwiches, two fries and 1 soda came to $25!!! I didn’t think that was right so I check and quickly saw he rang up 3 fry orders. I went to get it corrected and he was 4 feet away from me chatting with some customer in the dining area. That’s when the helpful employee who appeared to be a cook/awesome dude that knows how to put in refunds helped me out. We left, I only made it through 1/2 my veggie burger and handful of fries before I realized this meal was a mistake – gastrointestinally speaking. Fiancé had the same regrets. That will be our final visit…paying $20+ for stomach aches is out of my budget!!”

“Not even impressed.  I will say the fries are better than Smash Burger but the burgers themselves are a total disappointment.  Dry, tasteless and small.  Five Guys fries are light years ahead of both of these places.  I would not waste any more money here.  They do have milk shakes…  At 12:30 on a Tuesday we were the only ones there.  Now I know why. 1 double burger, 1 small burger, 1 fry and two small drinks $22 really….”

I must have gone at different times than these people because I never experienced any of that and always enjoyed everything about the place.

Sophomore Chase Tyeryar said, “I like Five Guys better. It’s just as good and they have a better atmosphere.”

“I like the taste of their food,” said freshman Christopher Smith. Smith continued, “I think it closed because of lack of publicity. I’m upset that it closed.”

Freshman Jared McWgilliams said, “I loved everything. I loved it, I loved their burgers and I loved their amazing milkshakes. I’m really upset that it closed down.”
