Walkersville Ranked Number Two Entering Academic Tournament Championship This Friday

Academic Tournament teams from all 10 Frederick County public high schools are preparing for heated competition in final matches for the championship, slated for Friday, February 24, 5:45 p.m. at Linganore High.  The championship is open free to the public. The snow date, if needed, is February 27 at 5:45 p.m. For the first time, the Tournament is recognizing the team that is first seeded before the championship. Police Warn Community of New Telephone Scam

The Frederick Police Department would like to warn the community of a new telephone scam. Victims have reported that a group of males with thick accents have contacted them advising a family member was involved in an accident.  The suspect are threatening and intimidating when they demanded money.
