Tonight, the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company Carnival features the Rock & Roll Relics Band on stage, and the Special Ride All Night from 6 – 10 p.m. Tonight’s buffet from 4:30 until 7:30pm in the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company’s air conditioned hall features Fried Shrimp and Roast Beef. Community Foundation Presents Barnhart Scholarships

The first scholarships from The Gene, Evelyn, and Ernest Family Scholarship Fund have been presented to six students. The fund is one of more than 679 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County. The Gene, Evelyn, and Ernest Family Scholarship Fund was created through W. Eugene “Gene” Barnhart’s estate to provide scholarships to students pursuing agriculture-related careers. Rutter’s presented its concept plan for approval to the Walkersville Planning Commission Tuesday, June 27, 2017. The company with a nineteen locations in Pennsylvania proposed a gas station and convenience store on a property next to the new Circle K at Sandstone Drive and Woodsboro Pike. This would be their only store in Maryland. Most people know the property for its abandoned Exxon gas station at the intersection of Glade Boulevard and Woodsboro Pike.
