Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Walkersville

Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred early this afternoon in Frederick County. Shortly after 12 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack responded to Woodsboro Pike (Route 194) at W. Frederick Street in Walkersville, Maryland for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. According to a preliminary investigation, the pedestrian, identified as Nikole Cynthia Morfessis, 15, of Walkersville, Maryland, was standing on the edge of the roadway on the northbound side, looking northbound. Local Students Raising Funds for Ukraine Relief Efforts

The Walkersville High School Leo Club will hold a Dine Out Night at Madrone’s on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. to raise funds for UNICEF’s Ukraine relief efforts. Madrone’s will donate 10-20% of total checks for patrons who tell their waiter/waitress that they are there for the Ukraine fundraiser.
