Mr. Carroll Lee Houck, 81, of Ridgely, WV and formerly of Clarksburg, MD, passed away on January 4, 2019 at Western Maryland Health Systems in Cumberland. He was the husband of Frankie Childers, his companion of 23 years.

Born November 26, 1937 in Woodsboro, MD, Carroll was the son of the late Bruce and Helen Houck. He graduated from Frederick High School, Class of 1956, and drove trucks before enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1959. He served as a combat engineer in the 547th Engineer Battalion stationed in West Germany. After his military service, Carroll became a carpenter in the construction trade. He worked for Brake & Sons Construction Company for 37 years before he retired. He was a member of AMVETS Post 2 and the American Legion FSK Post 11. The things Carroll loved the most were his dogs and spending time with Frankie.

In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Houck is survived by his brothers Charles Houck & wife Gerri, and Glenn Houck; his dog Bunny; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Houck, Jr., and by his sister, Frances Beard. He will also be remembered by Evelyn Spencer, Ronnie & Donna Lawler, and Pam & Bruce Sneathen.

A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, January 11th at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy in Frederick. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in the Veterans Garden of Honor I at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Floral tributes are welcome.
