Since moving to Walkersville, Mike and Emily's three children were born and attend local public schools. Mike also owns Digital Age Solution, an I.T. firm offering Managed Services, Computer Repairs & Sales, Voice Over IP Telephone Service, Networking, and Software Engineering. Mike actively participates in the community in various roles including: Walkersville Planning & Zoning Commission Member, Kaleidoscope 4-H Club Leader, Friends of Walkervsille Library, Vice-President, Frederick County 4-H Camp & Activities Center, Inc. Walkersville Meeting on Budget and Taxes Includes Expanded Police Force Discussion

The Town of Walkersville will meet Wednesday, March 25, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall. The meeting agenda includes the adoption of a tax rate and budgets for the next fiscal year. Following up on meetings in the fall of last year, Burgess Weddle’s proposed budget includes an expansion of the police force by $32,952. The Town of Walkersville contracts with the Maryland State Police to provide law enforcement in the town. Strawberry Festival Postponed

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church announced the postponement of its annual Strawberry Festival to June 11, 2016. The very popular fundraiser draws large crowds during Walkersville Day which will be this Saturday. Signs around town advertised the Strawberry Festival, but the weather will not cooperate this year. After nearly three weeks of continuous rain, Walkersville received some sunshine today. Usually, the tents would be raised today. Postal Service Collecting for Glade Valley Food Bank

The United States Postal Service in the Glade Valley area will be picking up donations of food for the Glade Valley Food Bank this Saturday, May 14, 2016. Many residents received a postcard and/or a blue shopping bag with information about this event in your mailbox this week.
