Walkersville High School Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Walkersville High School invites the community to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony for its newly renovated gymnasium on Thursday, October 23rd at 5:30 p.m.  There will be light refreshments provided. Those arriving by 5:30 will also get free admission to the girls volleyball game.  The volleyball team has played all away games while the renovations were taking place.  This will be the teams’ senior night. All are encouraged to stay and support our volleyball team!

Don’t miss Walkersville High School’s Homecoming Parade this Friday, October 24th! The parade begins at 5:00 p.m. The parade route begins at Walkersville Middle School’s rear parking lot, and proceeds onto Maryland Avenue.  From Maryland Avenue, the parade will turn right onto Maple Avenue, and right again onto West Frederick Street.  The parade will continue on West Frederick Street onto the parking lot of Walkersville High School. Walkersville Pushes-In New Quint-11

Friday evening, the Walkersville Community gathered to support the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company and celebrate the purchase of the new Quint-11 fire truck with a Pushing-In Ceremony. Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company Chief Matt Staley spoke some about the $1,114,000 truck which weighs in at about 82,000 lbs. The truck is a Pierce Velocity 100′ Aerial Platform, and was purchased from Atlantic Emergency Solutions.
