Michael Kuster serves as publisher and founder of GladeValley.net. He also owns and operates Digital Age Solution, LLC, an I.T. services firm in Frederick, Maryland. Mike grew up on a small farm in Frederick County, and graduated from Frederick High School, Frederick Community College, and the University of Maryland. He lives in Walkersville with his wife and three children.

Walkersville High School PTA Reflections Program

The Walkersville High School Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) will host an awards ceremony to honor students for their imagination, creativity and interpretation of the theme “The world would be a better place if …” in the 2014-2015 National PTA Reflections program. The event will feature an exhibit of student artwork. The awards program takes place on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Walkersville High School Media Center.

Walkersville Middle School Winter Concert

Walkersville Middle School’s Band, Orchestra, Chorus, and A Capella Singers will present their Winter Concerts this week. The concerts will take place in the gymnasium at Walkersville Middle School. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and the concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. On Wednesday evening, the orchestra and choral groups will perform. The bands will perform on Thursday evening.

Walkersville High School’s Theater Department will present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” later this week.  The productions will be presented Thursday, Friday and Saturday (December 11th – 13th) at 7:00 p.m. at the high school. A final performance will be presented on Sunday, December 14th at 2 p.m. The Walkersville High School Theatre debuts a new online ticket purchasing system with their latest production. Walkersville Elementary School Restricted Enrollment

Frederick County Public Schools this week announced schools that will be restricted for out of district transfers. Walkersville Elementary School will be the only school in the Glade Valley area restricted. In all, fifteen schools will be restricted.  The restrictions come when a school’s population will be at or over 100% capacity. The school system projects that Walkersville Elementary School’s population will be 666 students.
