Gardner Clarifies Use of Executive Orders

In response to many questions by some in the public and other elected officials, Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner clarified the authority of the county executive to issue executive orders under the county’s new form of Charter government. Drone Footage of WSRR Steam Engine

YouTube user Mike Purks posted this fantastic aerial footage of Walkersville Southern Railroad’s Steam Engine this week. Its a great way to see a Glade Valley treasure from a different perspective. While steam engine rides have stopped for this year, the organization’s regular fleet of engines provide service every Saturday through September at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. They also offer dinner trains and special excursions throughout the year. Ethics Task Force Presents Final Report

Ethics Task Force Presents Recommendations in Final Report to County Executive The Ethics Task Force, appointed by County Executive Jan Gardner in February 2015, completed its work tonight with a series of recommendations for changes to the Ethics Ordinance, state law and processes and procedures.
