Walkersville Planning Commission Meeting

The Town of Walkersville released an agenda for its Planning Commission Meeting on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. The meeting will be held at Walkersville’s Town Hall and begins at 7:30 p.m.

The plans for a Rutter’s convenience store and fueling station is notably absent from the agenda. The concept plans presented to the Planning Commission earlier this year prompted a large audience with signs to attend the Planning Commission’s last meeting. In anticipation of the large turn-out, Walkersville’s attorney and Burgess informed citizens and the Planning Commission that public comment at meetings must relate to items on the agenda.

When the Planning Commission Chair, Dick Brady, read that statement before opening the meeting to public comment, citizens asked for more notice of agendas and copies of minutes to be posted online. Planning Administrator informed the commission and citizens that minutes and agendas are now being posted online.
