Lions Beat Catoctin In Boys Play-off Action

The Walkersville varsity basketball team won 71-28 against the Catoctin Cougars on Friday Febuary 26th in the first round of the playoffs.
The game was extremely intense and the team had lots of support. The enthusiastic students filled the student section and were all dressed in white to show spirit! The students cheered the team on the entire game and were extremely high-energy.
This game was extremely important because it was their first playoff game. Sophomore Mikeala Miller said, “Their communication on the court is amazing and that is why they have been successful.”
On Monday, February 22, the Walkersville Boys Basketball team lost against Frederick 51-43. Although this was disappointing, their win against Catoctin made up for it.
The team has been working very well together lately. Sophomore, Rebecca Raub said “I think the boys basketball team is doing really well and I think they will continue to do so in the upcoming games.”
Sophomore Megan Goins said, “They’re really good. The student section is lit and I hope they go far.”
Sophomore Addie Robert said, “I think they are very good people on and off the court. They work nicely together. They will go far.”
Freshman, Kylie Mclung said, “They are very talented and they work together as a family to achieve their personal and team goals.”
The students of Walkersville High are going to continue to show their support for the boys. They hope they will go far and continue on in the championship games. Tonight the boys play at Middletown in the second round of the playoffs.
