Parade Winners Announced

The Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company’s Hometown Parade drew large crowds and had a great turn-out from participants. Fire and rescue companies, dance troops, Boy Scouts, 4-H Clubs, bands, and local businesses put forth a lot of effort and really nice attractions for the parade. Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies Escort Santa Into Town

Children all around Walkersville lined the streets of every neighborhood as emergency equipment slowly made their way through town with a very special passenger. Maryland State Police led the procession of Walkersville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Companies’ equipment.  In the middle of it all, Santa Clause rode on the back of the fire company’s 1940 fire engine. Children cheered with excitement as Santa and his elf tossed peppermint lollipops to all the children. Share your pictures with us in the comments section!

Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company’s Santa Parade

The Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company’s Santa Parade is back again this year! The Santa Parade will follow the same route as last year (see route below).  Santa and all of the emergency equipment will leave the fire hall at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2014. The Parade will be unable to go up and down every street so please make every effort to come see Santa on the streets listed below. The Santa Parade lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Walkersville’s Homecoming Parade & Football Game

Don’t miss Walkersville High School’s Homecoming Parade this Friday, October 24th! The parade begins at 5:00 p.m. The parade route begins at Walkersville Middle School’s rear parking lot, and proceeds onto Maryland Avenue.  From Maryland Avenue, the parade will turn right onto Maple Avenue, and right again onto West Frederick Street.  The parade will continue on West Frederick Street onto the parking lot of Walkersville High School.
