School Buses to Sport Route Numbers

As Frederick County public school employees prepare to welcome more than 40,000 students Monday, August 25, FCPS buses are sporting a special new feature. This year instead of learning a bus number, students will travel by route, a letter-number combination displayed in windows on each side of the bus. The route designation will remain the same even when a substitute bus is scheduled to serve that route. Important Safety Precautions from Frederick County Public Schools FCPS classes start Monday! In Maryland, over 600,000 students begin and end their school day with a trip on a school bus. FCPS joins the Maryland State Police in reminding drivers to pay close attention when driving in proximity to school buses and school zones.
