Executive Gardner Announces Online Budget Surveys Prior to March 15 Public Hearing
Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner today announced the launch of two online budget surveys at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/budgetsurveys. She invites citizens to select their personal funding priorities to establish a blueprint for moving the county forward in a sustainable and fiscally responsible manner.
“I want our budget to reflect the values and priorities of our community,” commented Executive Gardner. “I invite citizens to make their voices known by taking our surveys about where to spend our limited tax dollars. What we do together as a community defines our future.”
One survey looks at broad categories in which to invest, such as education, transportation or public safety. The other offers specific line items that have been requested for the budget.
The budget surveys will be online from today through March 31.
In addition to surveys, social media, e-mails, mail and other means of sharing information, Executive Gardner encourages citizens to attend a public hearing to provide comments on what they
want to include in the county’s budget.
The hearing will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, in the first floor hearing room of Winchester Hall, located at 12 East Church Street, Frederick, Md.
The public hearing will be televised on FCG TV, cable channel 19, and webcast on www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/video.
