Robert “Bob” Clement Snyder, age 90, former State Police Frederick Barrack Commander and Sheriff of Frederick County, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at his home in Woodsboro. Born July 22, 1928 in Cumberland, he was the seventh child of the late Andrew Daniel and Carrie Mae Gibson Snyder. Robert was raised on a farm in West Virginia and graduated from LaSalle High Institute in 1947. In 1950 he joined the Army and was stationed at Griesheim Ordnance Depot, near Frankfurt, Germany. The Community Foundation of Frederick County is pleased to announce its scholarship application is available for the 2019-2020 academic year beginning Friday, March 1, 2019. For the fourth consecutive year, just over $1 million is available to students pursuing post-secondary education or vocational training. By completing one general application, students may qualify for more than 250 scholarships.
