BoE and Teachers Sign Contract for Next Three Fiscal Years
Board of Education and Frederick County Teachers Association (FCTA) leaders signed a contract at yesterday evening’s Board meeting that takes effect July 1, 2017. The contract, which is a three-year agreement, implements the second of a four-year transition to a revised salary scale agreed upon last year, maintains insurance premium levels, and includes other updates and improvements for teachers. One goal of the revised teacher pay scale has been to raise salaries for starting teachers, making FCPS more competitive with neighboring districts and boosting the school system’s efforts to recruit…
