Grace E. Flanigan, age 84, of Walkersville, died Friday, July 12, 2019 at her home from natural causes. Born March 22, 1935, in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late John Carl and Mary Alice Summers Gladhill. She was the wife of Richard E.B. Flanigan who died in 2016. Grace was a member of Woodsboro Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was treasurer of the Sunday school for many years, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, was on the kitchen committee and helped with the pot pie dinners. Margaret Catharine Sayler Powers, 97, of Walkersville, died on July 3 at her niece’s residence in Thurmont. Born on September 15, 1921 in Johnsville, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Esther (Martz) Sayler. Margaret graduated from Walkersville High School, as well as being a student in Spanish at Towson University. Her fifteen year marriage to Alan C. Powers, Sr., ended in divorce. She was employed by the Frederick County Roads Board for several years before joining Peoples Drug Stores in 1944 as secretary for the District Manager.…

Saturday Night wraps up a fun-filled week of The Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company’s Annual Carnival and will feature Dean Crawford & the Dunns River Band, a Rides Special, and so much more! All You Can Eat Buffet will be prepared and served by the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday evenings menu features Fried Shrimp, Roast Turkey or Beef, and Baked Ham.
