Dan McCabe, 60, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at his home in Walkersville, Maryland. He is survived by his wife, Amy McCabe; children, Robert McCabe (and wife Hannah) and Kendrick McCabe; siblings, Michael McCabe (and wife Susan), Duncan McCabe (and wife Laura), and Gail Baldwin (and husband James); his nieces and nephews; and his two cats, Lilly and Iris. Dan was born in 1960 to parents Hugh and Patsy McCabe. He graduated from Centralia High School in Centralia, Washington where he was active in wrestling, scouts, and DeMolay.…

Carnival Cancelled BUT Fireworks Saved

Eariler this week, the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company made a very difficult choice to announce the cancellation of its annual Carnival for the first time in its history. The carnival was scheduled to be held the week of July 4, 2020. “While we hate to forego our most beloved week of the year, we must always keep the health and safety of our patrons and our volunteer workers at the top of our priority list,” a letter sent to the community stated. Blood Drive at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church

St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Walkersville will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Drive will be held in the Parish Hall at 19 West Pennsylvania Avenue, Walkersville, MD 21793. Appointments are required to allow for social distancing. Face coverings will be required, also.
