New Midway and Woodsboro to Remain in Separate School Buildings

Frederick County Public Schools recently announced that they were considering conolidation of New Midway and Woodsboro Elementary School into the one building of Woodsboro Elementary School. The school currently operates as one school in two locations. They share administrators, guidance counselors, and specials teachers. Frederick County sought to find savings in time and money by moving all students to Woodsboro. The community was invited to provide input to help make the decision. Veterans Bus Trip

The Town of Walkersville invites Veterans and guests on a bus trip to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. The bus trip will visit the Vietnam War Memorial and other war memorials. The bus will leave from the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company at 8:00 a.m. and return at approximately 4:00 p.m. Seats must be reserved by April 17, 2018. Audrey (Fogle) Blank, 87, of Walkersville, Maryland, passed away on March 4, 2018 at Glade Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation in Walkersville. She was the wife of the late Edgar M. Blank whom passed away in 2011. Born on September 19, 1930, in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Burkhard and Ruth (Stull) Fogle.
