Emergency Equipment On Display

The Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company hosted Atlantic Emergency Solutions and other vendors on Saturday.  The event featured a lot of new equipment from Atlantic Emergency Solutions including fire trucks and ambulances.  Other vendors displayed helmets, boots, hoses, cameras, and nozzles for hoses. One vendor demonstrated their battery powered jaws of life and traditionally powered jaws of life.   Earlier this week, Microsoft announced and offered a preview of Windows 10.  Code-named Threshold many expected the next operating system to be called Windows 9.  After all, Windows 8.1 was the name of the latest release. Good Night for Walkersville Athletics

Monday evening proved to be a good night for Walkersville High School’s athletics department.  The Lions needed some joy after a string of losses last week including losing a hard fought football game Friday night against the Knights.  Last week, the Lions’ Golf team stood out by providing a win against Frederick 183 – 207. The Boys Soccer team had a mixed week with one loss and one win. Walkersville Volleyball defeated the Frederick Cadets by sweeping all three sets: 25-23, 29-27, and 25-15.
