Applications Open for Agriculture Innovation Grant Program

Farmers looking to expand or diversify their operations can apply for funding through Frederick County’s award-winning Agriculture Innovation Grants Program. Applications for the Spring 2023 cycle of grants will be accepted now through March 31. Frederick County Flag Redesign Contest Announced

Designers younger than eighteen years of age must submit a parental consent form upon submission of a design.  Designs should be submitted as a full color, high-resolution PDF, JPG, or PNG in landscape format and can be submitted by emailing 275@frederickcountymd.gov by the Friday, March 31, 2023 deadline. Submissions that are incomplete or received after the deadline, will not be considered.   The contest will include two rounds. Motorists Urged to Remain Cautious As Heavy Rains May Close County Roads

Frederick County officials urge motorists to use caution when they head home on their commute Thursday.  According to the National Weather Service, portions of the county could receive ½ inch, or as much as 2-4 inches, of rain in a short period of time if there are multiple thunderstorms.  Heavy rainfall in a short amount of time can result in rapid rises in streams, creeks and urban areas.  Such heavy rain may strand motorists and close some county-maintained roads because of flooding, debris or sinkholes.  A list of road closures…
