Renovation of Creamery Park in Walkersville is scheduled to begin next week, March 13, 2023. The Town has not identified completion date. The park will be closed for the duration of the project. The $325,000 renovation of Creamery Park was approved in July of 2022. The majority of the project is funded through grants. The Town of Walkersville will be hosting a free seminar on the Senior Tax Credit, March 14, at 10am, at the Walkersville Public Library. The Town of Walkersville offers a Senior Tax Credit for homeowners age 65 and over. The amount of the Walkersville tax credit is 50% of the net Town tax. This is a supplement to the State’s Homeowner Tax Credit and County’s Senior Tax Credit, and all qualifications and limitations of these credits apply. The contractor for Parkside developers informed the Town of Walkersville that Biggs Ford Road work at Kenneth Dr/Parkside will begin tomorrow, March 7, 2023. Construction will likely start around 8am, however there may be activity prior to that. The road will not be closed, but there will eventually be a flagging operation that will cause delays. This work is to include merge lanes, sidewalk, gutter and curb. As the Town receives additional information, they will keep residents updated.
