Walkersville Planning Commission to Hold Public Hearing on FoodPro Request

The Town of Walkersville received a Comprehensive Plan request from Food Pro (location 8908 Fountain Rock Rd, +/-106.38 acres) to be included in the Town’s ultimate annexation limits with a land use designation of Limited Industrial. This is NOT an annexation request, although Food Pro has indicated their intention to submit an annexation petition in the future. The property is currently located within the ultimate annexation limits of the Town and is designated Agricultural Buffer and Limited Industrial. Creamery Park Renovation

Renovation of Creamery Park in Walkersville is scheduled to begin next week, March 13, 2023. The Town has not identified completion date. The park will be closed for the duration of the project. The $325,000 renovation of Creamery Park was approved in July of 2022. The majority of the project is funded through grants. The first phase of the renovation was completed last year with the paving and improvements to the Creamery Park parking lot. Senior Tax Credit Seminar

The Town of Walkersville will be hosting a free seminar on the Senior Tax Credit, March 14, at 10am, at the Walkersville Public Library. The Town of Walkersville offers a Senior Tax Credit for homeowners age 65 and over. The amount of the Walkersville tax credit is 50% of the net Town tax. This is a supplement to the State’s Homeowner Tax Credit and County’s Senior Tax Credit, and all qualifications and limitations of these credits apply.
