Woodsboro Stabbing & Theft Suspect Arrested

Detectives with the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) arrested Stephen Zimmerman, age 25, from Frederick, for charges of second degree assault, reckless endangerment, theft between $100 and $1,500, and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.

On Sunday, Nov. 22, at approximately 9:30 p.m., FCSO deputies responded to Evelyn Drive in Woodsboro, Maryland, in reference to a stabbing and stolen vehicle report. Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Frederick Health Hospital (FHH) with multiple non-life threatening stab wounds. When questioned by deputies, the victim reported that Zimmerman had stabbed him, stolen his vehicle and his iPhone.

After getting a thorough description of Zimmerman, deputies quickly located him at a local Sheetz. Deputies made an arrest and transported Zimmerman to the Frederick County Law Enforcement Center for an interview. Following the interview, deputies transported Zimmerman to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center. Zimmerman had multiple burglary and violation of parole warrants out for his arrest.

FCSO deputies successfully recovered the stolen iPhone and vehicle.

Frederick Health Hospital professionals released the victim and he is recovering.
