WHS Student Ashley Wagester Featured In Art Show

WHS Lions Pride Original Story:

Local, Award-Winning Country Music from Mike Kuster

by Ciarra Lawson

Former WHS senior Ashley Wagester has entered herself in what’s known as the Rebecca Pearl Art Exhibit in Emmitsburg, Maryland in October. The paintings that are entered benefit the Humane Society of Frederick County.

This is Wagester’s first time entering the exhibit, and she says “I’m excited mostly, but a bit nervous.” In the past she’s entered in the Thurmont Art Show and won because of an oil pastel painting.

In return for her winning, she was given two free art lessons taught by the one and only Rebecca Pearl, which is how Wagester met Pearl.

Wagester is entering six paintings of mostly animals, her chalk pastel blue bird painting being her favorite. “That’ll be the winning one,” she said confidently.

So if you’re interested in animals and art, this is a perfect event to attend. Come show some Lion’s pride and support your fellow peer on October 25th!
