Walkersville Planning Commission to Discuss Property Owner Requests
The Walkersville Planning Commission will continue updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan at its meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be open to the public and livestreamed on the Town’s website, https://walkersvillemd.gov/. Due to upcoming building renovations, the meeting will be held UPSTAIRS in Town Hall.
The Planning Commission will discuss property owner’s requests for changes in zoning and annexations. Those include:
- Property owner request: Staley, W/S Glade Road, between Main St extended and Devilbiss Bridge Rd (115 acres, Request for High Density Residential south of Glade Creek, and Medium Density Residential north of Glade Creek)
- Property owner request: Square Acres (Stone), NW corner of Fountain Rock Rd and MD 194 (100 acres, Request for change from Ag Rural to a mixed residential category)
- Property owner request: DeCaro property, NW/S Woodsboro Pike (MD 194) (6 acres, Request for High Density Residential)
- Property owner request: Delaplaine, N/S MD 26, between MD 194 and Crum Rd (706 acres, Request for Ag/Mixed useāfrom Ag Buffer to a development category)
- Property owner interest: Bowers, w/s Fountain Rock Rd, s/s Biggs Ford Rd (107 acres, from Ag Buffer/Light Industrial to residential (?))
- Property owner request: Gough, 19 W. Frederick Street, from Business Office to Old Town, to allow conversion of existing offices to mixed use or residential
- Property owner request: Pratt, 19 Maple Avenue, rezoning request (R-3 to Old Town Mixed Use), no change to Old Town designation on Comp Plan map
- Staff recommended changes to Comprehensive Plan map
