VITA Supports Over 150 Taxpayers
Glade Valley Food Bank hosted the IRS sponsored and certified Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for a sixth tax season this year.
VITA volunteers, Bob Fenimore, Bob Thornton, and Alan Phillips completed more than 300 federal and state tax returns for over 150 Glade Valley residents. Most of the returns were e-filed for the tax payers.
Messrs. Fenimore, Thornton, and Phillips have prepared volunteer tax returns for thirteen years. They annually attend IRS training sessions and must pass IRS exams.
VITA volunteers prepare basic and amended tax returns for taxpayers with incomes not exceeding $52,000 for the current tax year the last three years.
