Red Bull Settles $13 Million Lawsuit

WHS Lions Pride Original Story:

Consumers have filed a lawsuit under the complaint that the company’s marketing and labeling, particularly the slogan “Red Bull gives you wings,” is misleading in regards to functionality and safety.

The company has not admitted fault to these claims, but it has agreed to a settlement to avoid litigation. As a result, anyone who has purchased a Red Bull product between January 1, 2002 and October 3, 2014 is eligible for a $10 cash reimbursement or $15 in Red Bull Products. Claims must be postmarked or submitted online at www.energydrinksettlement.com/claim by March 2, 2015.

There is a cap for compensation at $13 million. And with the settlement website already having crashed twice from traffic, it is clear that not everyone will be able to get their payment, at least not in full. The possibility still remains that individual reimbursements will decrease if the number of people exceeds the allotted funds.

The final approval hearing for the settlement will take place on May 2, 2015. If the settlement goes through, the payments will be distributed within 150 days of the final hearing.
