MVA with Entrapment on Rt.26

Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company Reports:

At 8:38 p.m. on March 23, 2015, Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company (Company 24) and Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company (Comapny 11) were dispatched to Maryland Route 26 and Latham Drive for a vehicle accident with entrapment. Company 24 arrived on the scene to find one car crashed into the guardrail with driver trapped, and established command. Ambulance 247 arrived on scene to begin patient care.

Rescue 24 arrived on the scene to work stabilize the vehicle. The rescue crew used the side wench of their apparatus to pull the guardrail away before cutting and removing the guardrail. Once the guardrail was removed, the rescue crew went to work removing the driver side door. The patient was extricated in ten minutes and transferred to Ambulance 247.

E111 arrived on the scene to assist with the squad crew and pulled 1” front bumper line for precaution. The driver was then transported to Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown, Maryland. Command was terminated and all units went in service as ready.
