Every Saturday young boys put their all into starting their future football athletic careers. Twice a week boys from the ages ranging from 5-12, just like high school boys do and play football.

GVAA is such a good program for younger boys who want to play sports. They won’t have to wait till they get to high school to get their opportunity to play. The coaches put 100% into everything they do with these young men molding them into the football players they want to be.  Billy Snow, a young athlete on the Walkersville GVAA football team says. “The coaches are motivating; they try to push you to the limit.”

They even show some GVAA Little Leagues on TV at Buffalo Wild Wings, treating these young boys playing sports just like they were college football players or professionals.

Mickey Snow, mother of a football player on GVAA says “To some, seeing little kids playing sports is really inspiring.” The GVAA for Walkersville plays and practices at Heritage Park. This past Saturday, the young boys had to move from their normal grass field, to Oakdale High School’s large turf. The field is very different from what they are used to. The Oakdale field is large, set up differently and even maybe a little intimidating for the boys.

I wanted to know what they felt like playing on an actual football field, and Dillon Riggs, a football player on the Walkersville GVAA team,  says “I was pretty nervous at first, but after a while it is pretty fun.” These young boys get an opportunity that some boys in different places don’t. GVAA is a great opportunity and a learning experience. Riggs said “confident” is what these young men feel when they get on that football field.
