On the early morning September 22nd, 2014 you could already feel the autumn breeze blowing away the feelings of summer. Now it’s time for Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes, cozy sweatshirts and jackets, hearing the leaves crunch as you walk, and corn mazes. The first day of fall is officially here!

“I love wearing jeans and boots. Fall fashion is one of my favorite things about fall!” says Matty Hurtado, student journalist from Missouri.

“Getting a group of friends together and going on a haunted hay ride or having a bonfire is always a favorite fall festivity,” says Walkersville High School graduate Hannah Taheri.

“Football games are the best when it’s cooler,” says junior Bruce Illanga.

The cool thing about fall is that there’s always something to look forward to. There are football games, Halloween, a bunch of things always going on at Crumland farms, and Thanksgiving! And even after that there’s things to look forward to having to do with winter, like snow days, Christmas and great holiday spirit!

cat fb 4Plus, we can finally put an end to the constant heat! With fall being here, juniors and seniors can enjoy wearing long sleeved tailgating shirts to the games and wearing sweatshirts and jackets without sweating.

“Since the tailgating shirts are black and most of them are long sleeved, now that summer’s over and it’s starting to get cooler it’s going to be so much more comfortable to wear them for games,” says senior Mallory Donaghue.

So if you’re a warm weather person, don’t worry, we’re going to have a few more warm days this year. But other than those few days, prepare for chilly mornings and the leaves of the trees changing colors. It’s officially Autumn!
