On Monday, September 22nd the Lady Lions field hockey team clashed with a superior Urbana Hawks team and lost 4-0.

The Hawks started off the game strong by scoring within the first minute of the game. Urbana was able to shut the Lions offense down in the first allowing little chances at a shot on goal. Urbana was able to score 3 more times before the end of the first half.

At the start of the second half it seemed that Walkersville stepped up their intensity. Their defense looked like it was given a second life and was able to shut the Hawks out for the rest of the game.

The Lions offense however looked second-rate but it was better than that of the first half. They used their defense to help create offense. There were a couple shots on goal but besides that they were shut down, especially when they entered the circle.

The final score of the game was Urbana 4 Walkersville 0. Walkersville’s record falls to 0-5 with this loss. They will look to improve their record at their next game against the Oakdale Bears at Walkersville.
