The Lions played their toughest game of the season against the Urbana Hawks. The Lion’s perfect record ends with a 4-0 loss. Walkersville was on the defending end for most of the game, and all though they played strong defensively, they conceded their first goal on a single handed effort by an Urbana player with 24 minutes remaining in the first half. “It was a good effort by both sides; we put it all out there,” Junior Dylan Whitmer said.

The Hawks didn’t wait long to strike again getting one two minutes later off of a header, that went over goalkeeper Alex Moore’s head. “We played hard, but stepped up to late” Junior TJ Metcalfe said after the game.

Urbana struck twice more in the first half, one off of a beauty from 25 yards out that went to the opposite post with 20 minutes left, and the other from a stroke of pure luck with 12 minutes left.

Alex Moore had 12 saves for the Lions, and back-up goalie Jodie Brunty had 2. The JV lost 1-0.
