Boys Soccer Gets Back to Winning, 3-1 Over Boonsboro

sports - Boys soccer - BoonsboroMonday night the Walkersville Lions gained back to their winning ways with a 3-1 victory over the Boonsboro Warriors. “ It felt good to get a win again” Senior Captain, Wilson Yoingco said about their victory.

The first goal came seventeen minutes into the first half on a shot by Spencer Shortt. The Lions didn’t stop there. They struck again with nine minutes and thirty seconds remaining in the half. Off of a corner from Spencer Shortt and headed in by Connor Clabaugh. “ We played as a team, and kept fighting” Spencer Shortt said about his teams effort on the field.

The Warriors got their only goal of the night with eight minutes left in the half caused by a slip up in the defense of Walkersville. “It was a hard fought game on both sides of the ball” Connor Clabaugh said after the game.

Tanner Seymour put the game away with a slow rolling ball in the last five minutes of the half. Alex Moore had five saves for the Lions. JV tied 2-2.
