Boys Lacrosse Team Working Extremely Hard This Spring to Improve Their Game

WHS Lions Pride Original Story:

Coming off a 4-10 season, the WHS boys lacrosse team is looking to bounce back with a strong season. A new coaching staff has the players feeling confident about the upcoming season.

Senior John Kelly said, “I am really excited for this season because of the effort and intensity so far. Everyone is competing hard and working to get better. I think there will be a big improvement over last season.”

Senior Keegan Moriarty said, “This is my last year with the other seniors so I am hopeful we will have a good season. We have a talented group of players that also work hard.”

Senior Kevin Donegan stated, “We are excited for this season because the new coaching staff has brought in a lot of intensity at practice. I think all of the hard work we have put in will pay off and we will have a positive season.”

Junior Carter High said, “This year we are being pushed very hard. Everyone has a good attitude and we are pushing each other to improve every day. This will definitely help us and lead us to some wins.”

Junior Andrew Earls added, “The pre-season was really difficult but I am looking forward to the season. I feel like we have all gotten much better. The season will definitely be fun.”

Senior Zach Hope said, “I am expecting this year to be much better than last season. All of the new players have good attitudes and are putting a lot of work in which will help them fit in. Coach Clark is really demanding of his players which makes it difficult but in the end will only make us better.”

Senior Nathan Miller said, “I think that we are going to improve from last year due to our work ethic and positivity. Our new coaching staff will keep us focused and in line. They will increase how productive we are and if we work hard enough that will lead us to win our region.”

The Lions first game is March 21st at Liberty, and their home opener is the 23rd vs Tuscarora.
