Barn Fire 12000Blk of Creagerstown Rd

At 3:20 p.m. on January 8, 2018, Engine Tanker 114 was dispatched on the initial box alarm for a barn fire.

The first unit went on scene, dropped a line at the end of the driveway for water supply and advised Emergency Communications Center they had heavy fire showing.

The next unit set up folding tanks at the end of the driveway for water supply operations and for water shuttle relay.

Battalion Chief 902 went on scene, established command, and soon requested additional large capacity tankers. Command also requested HazMat units to assist due to hazardous materials in the barn.

All other units went on scene and took their assigned positions.

Engine Tanker 114 advised command there was a driveway to the rear of the farm and were directed to side C. Upon going to side C, Engine Tanker 114 advised command there was a pond that could be used as a secondary water source. Other units assisted with those operations on side C. Units operated for several hours before terminating command.
