Voter Registration Deadline Nears
Frederick County residents who wish to register to vote in the November 8, 2016 Presidential General Election are reminded that the deadline for voter registration is 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. The same deadline applies to voters who are already registered and wish to make changes to their name, address, or party affiliation before the General Election.
In order to become a registered voter and vote in this year’s election, individuals must be a U.S. citizen, live in Frederick County, and be at least 18 years of age on or before November 8, 2016.
Online voter registration is now available at the State Board of Elections’ website at www.bit.ly/MDVoteReg for voters who have a Maryland driver’s license or MVA-issued ID. Voters with MVA-issued ID or a Maryland driver’s license may also update their current Maryland voter registration information at this site.
Voter registration applications may be obtained by calling the Board of Elections until Wednesday, October 12. Applications are also available in county libraries, the Motor Vehicle Administration, Frederick Community College, the County Courthouse, Department of Health, Department of Social Services, Department of Aging and all U.S. Post Offices.
Individuals may also register in person at the Board of Elections, 355 Montevue Lane, Suite 101, Frederick, on the following dates: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Tuesday, October 18, from 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
