Town of Walkersville Elections This September

The Town of Walkersville will hold an election this September. While the whole country sets its sites on the mid-term elections to see which way the country will sway, Walkersville may see big changes in its leadership. The Town’s Burgess and all five Town Commissioners seats will be up for election.

Many rumors have swept around town about who will or will not run for re-election, and who may seek a higher office. Currently, Chad Weddle is serving his first term as Burgess. Town Commissioners currently in office are Gary Baker, Russell Winch, Debora Zimmerman, Donald Schildt, and Mary Ann Brodie-Ennis.

Those interested in seeking an office in Walkersville’s Town Hall must submit a Certificate of Candidacy thirty days prior to the election. Therefore, the Certificate of Candidacy will be due in Town Hall by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018.
