New Burgess and Town Commissioners Sworn In

The Town of Walkersville began a new chapter with a new Burgess and Town Commissioners Wednesday evening. Chad Weddle, who has served as a Town Commissioner for the past nineteen years, took the oath of office becoming Walkersville Burgess before a large crowd in Walkersville Town Hall. Mr. Weddle succeeds Ralph Whitmore, who served as Burgess for the past sixteen years. A new board of Town Commissioners were also sworn into office. Whitmore Will Not Seek Re-Election

As he wrapped up last night’s Town Meeting, Walkersville Burgess Ralph Whitmore announced that he will not be seeking re-election this year. While there were many rumors that he would not run, this was his first official statement.
