Parkside, a development under construction along Biggs Ford Road in Walkersville, has seen a lot of progress after a long time spent on infrastructure. The two streets with curb and gutter went in a few weeks ago, and the first home went up quickly. Over the past few weeks, more foundations have gone into the ground, and the walls were erected for the first floor of another home.
The development consists of twenty-four lots varying in size from about 22,000 square feet to just over 32,000 square feet. The lot designated as “Lot 17” features the existing home which has been renovated and updated by the builders.
On top of the common and forest areas required by law, the developer will be dedicating 2.060 acres to the Town of Walkersville to increase the size of Walkersville Community Park.
Parkside sits just west of Glade Creek, and is the second development on Biggs Ford to go up in so many years. Mill Run, to the east of Glade Creek, finished building and sold out earlier this year. A twenty-unit townhouse development along Glade Road and a 102 home development along Fountain Rock Road are currently under development.
