Within the first five minutes of the game starting, Pope scored on TJ. Later in the first period the Patriots scored. At the end of the first period it was tied up 1-1. Four minutes into the second half of the game sophomore Emily Goline scored and put Walkersville up 2-1. Walkersville pushed through until the end of the game and beat the Patriots 3-1. Sophomore goalie Ishani Tewari commented, “I think I played well, I was nervous at first, but I blocked twice the amount of shots I let in. The field players didn’t really let the ball get to me so I’m thankful for that, it was a great first win for our season.”

Junior Maddie Holley commented on how she thought the team played as a whole. “I think we started out playing at their level but at half time it was 1-1. We knew we had to step it up. The team really came together and got our first win of the season.”
