Class of 2018 Graduates With Style at Mount St. Mary’s

WHS Lions Pride Original Story:

Walkerville’s class of 2018 took their final step and graduated at Mount Saint Mary’s at two o’clock on Thursday afternoon May 31st.

The Walkersville community and family were very pleased and excited to see our senior class take their final steps and graduate. Our senior class was extremely happy and excited to see their hard work pay off and get their high school diploma. The graduation took place at The Mount in their main gymnasium. The room was full of emotional family members and excited and anxious senior class.

Parent Nicole Gaines said “It was very emotional and [I am] very proud of everyone; one chapter in their life is now over and now a new one is about to begin. I wish everyone the best of luck on their new endeavors and have the most fun while they can.”

Principal Tracy Kibler commented “I thought it was a very sentimental moment. I was very close to a lot of the seniors and I miss them already. The performance was very well done. I loved it and I could not have asked for a better day.”

A lot of parents and family members have been waiting this moment for a  very long time and as soon as it came were very joyous and and could not ask for a better moment. The seniors happily collected their diplomas and at the end threw their caps in the air at the end of the ceremony. Our very own Walkersville band had a very sweet and touching  performance and no one could ask for more. This ceremony was a very intimate, touching and to the point.

Grandparent Claude Simon chipped in and said “I think it was a very wonderful thing that they are graduating and education is everything and very important and graduation is just the beginning of a higher learning and just the beginning of your life.”

Congratulations class of 2018 keep striving to achieve all goals you have set for the future.
