Child Pornography Arrest

On December 14th, 2018, Detective Tim Moore Jr. and Corporal Joe McCallion, assisted by the FBI, arrested Jake Tyler Patterson, 21, of Adamstown, at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) campus on an open arrest warrant for the following charges:

  • Child Pornography Solicitation
  • Child Pornography Permit Sex Subject

This open warrant stemmed from an investigation that began in August of 2018. It was around this time that Detective Moore was notified about a subject who was sexually soliciting minors through the mobile app, Snapchat.

Detective Moore was able to identify Patterson as the suspect through various court order subpoenas, search warrants, and assistance from the FBI.

With assistance from the FBI, Baltimore County Police, and UMBC Police, Patterson was taken into custody without incident. After receiving a confession during an interview in Baltimore County, he was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.

The investigation is ongoing.
