The new Sheetz store opened last week. This week, passersby watched crews make short work out of demolishing the old store.  As construction continues, more amenities will open including this car wash and drive- thru. The new fuel pumps will not open until mid -August.

The Town of Walkersville, in celebration of its 125th Anniversary, and the Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company proudly announce a parade to coincide with the annual carnival. The parade will take place on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The parade begins promptly at 4:00 p.m. The rain date for the parade will be Wednesday, July 5th at 6:30 pm. Rutter’s Presents Plan for Old Exxon Property in Walkersville

Rutter’s Farm Store, a convenience store providing food and fuel, plans to move into Walkersville. Representatives from Rutter’s presented plans at the Town of Walkersville’s Planning Commission Public Hearings the past two months. They have not submitted site plans for approval, but concepts for feedback from the Town. The proposed store would be Rutter’s Farm Store’s only Maryland location. Walkersville Veterans Day Service

The Town of Walkersville held its annual Veterans Day Service on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Memorial Park in town. Town Commissioner Don Schildt, Sr., who organizes the annual event, observed during his welcoming remarks that it was the largest turn-out for the event. In fact, the entire intersection of Five Corners was filled to standing room only for the event.
