Montgomery County Dairy Farmer Laurie Savage of Dickerson, and Maryland Dairy Princess Sydnie Grossnickle of Walkersville, Frederick County, celebrated June Dairy Month by supporting the Great American Milk Drive. School Bus Involved in Collision During WHS Drop-Off

At approximately 7:20 a.m. this morning, a collision between a school bus and another vehicle occurred at the intersection of the Walkersville High and Elementary Schools’ entrance and Woodsboro Pike. School Administration and Emergency Personnel promptly responded to the scene. Bear Sighting in Walkersville

Due to reports of a bear sighted un Walkersville, the following schools were placed on a partial lockdown for approximately an hour this morning as a precautionary safety measure: Walkersville High Walkersville Middle Walkersville Elementary Glade Elementary Staff Development Center The partial lockdown is now lifted and schools are operating normally; all students and staff are safe. A black bear was spotted near the churches along Biggs Ford Road near the Creek Side neighborhood.
